Walnut Creek Short Sale Market Update

Hi, everybody, Scott Fuller with the East Bay Short Sale Group. We are your Walnut Creek short sale specialists. Just got some information, some housing statistics for September, 2012,I wanted to share with you. The number of active listings in Walnut Creek for September was 48. The number of pending listings in Walnut Creek is 58, and the number of properties that closed in September was 50. The year-to-date closings in Walnut Creek are 443, so 443 houses sold in Walnut Creek in 2012. Regarding the average sales price, the average sales price, year-to-date for 2012 in Walnut Creek is $710,000. Last year, for 2011 year-to-date, the average sales price was $678,000, so that’s obviously a nice increase. In fact, it’s 4 1/2% increase that we’ve seen, year over year, in the average sales price. So, overall for the housing market, that’s great news. We’re certainly seeing a lot of buyers out there; not a lot of inventory and that usually tends to gradually increase prices.
